Position Description
A real estate & property management company are seeking a college graduate with a Master's degree in Finance or Economics and expert skills in Excel interested in pursuing a career in Real Estate Finance to join our Financial Team. This position will encompass accounting functions and support ground-up development projects, as well as commercial and retail operating assets spanning the East Coast and Southeastern United States. A high degree of transactional experience in both is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Financial Team, assist with all accounting practices, and advise on transactional details.
Participate in calls with clients and deliver verbal reporting and analysis on a regular cadence.
Create and maintain accurate and complete reports for clients, including:
Balance Sheets
Profit and Loss Statements
Trial Balance and General Ledger
Cash Flow Statements
Budget vs. Actual Reports
CAM Reconciliations and Recovery
Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Lenders to prepare, issue, and monitor Construction Draw Packages.
Make ethical decisions and ensure clients' financial transactions are consistent with good accounting practices.
Contribute to year-end 1099 filings, tax preparation, and audit preparation.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clients and make recommendations for improvement.
Help maintain good working relationships and rapport with both clients and team members.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Finance or Economics from an accredited college/university.
3-5 years of experience in Real Estate Finance, including Development and Commercial Accounting.
Public accounting experience preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
NetSuite experience required.
QuickBooks, Yardi, and BlueCollar Software proficiency preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize.
